Félidőhöz érkezett a Számkirálynő-projekt fejlesztése

On June 19, 2024, the innovators selected for the development program presented the progress of pilot developments supported within the framework of the Social Innovation National Laboratory (TINLAB). At the professional event organized at the ELTE TINLAB Competence Center, our project manager Eszter Miklós reported to his fellow innovators, the mentors present, and the professional management of TINLAB about the challenges and results of the period since April. Be a Number Queen too! project has set itself a double goal: on the one hand, it wants to improve the sense of mathematical competence (self-confidence) of 8-10-year-old girls, and on the other hand, it wants to prevent turning away from mathematics in a preventive way. The uniqueness of the development project lies in the fact that it attempts to arouse and maintain interest in mathematics with a drama pedagogic toolkit.

The pilot development period began in April 2024, and in the period since then, it was possible to test the project in classroom conditions with the involvement of 19 little girls. The location of the testing was the János Hunyadi Primary School in Debrecen, where, in the framework of three test sessions, it was possible to assess which pedagogical tools and in which dramatic setting the 2nd grade girls can be most effectively involved.

At the professional meeting, Eszter Miklós reported, among other things, how she is strengthening the dissemination of the project's results in the second half of the development period, and what feedback activities she is planning. For the long-term sustainability of Be a Number Queen! project, we are waiting for applications from corporate partners who, as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR), would like to support a project that helps girls feel competent in mathematics.
